Meet up at Coffee Fox for hot cocoa followed by watching Savannah’s Annual Lighted Christmas Parade.

Monthly SWE Lunch Gathering

Tuesday, December 16, 2019 – 11a-12:30p

On the third Tuesday of the month will be having our standing monthly lunch get-together at McAlisters Deli in Pooler.  You're welcome to come any time between 11:00a-12:30p and join the SWE-SCE table for a lunch out.  Meet new friends and catch up with current/old friends at this informal, social gathering!

It is not required, but requested that you either RSVP online or email sceswe@gmail.com to let us know you're coming and we'll add you to the calendar invite.

Volunteer – Savannah Santa Train Event

 When: Saturday, December 7th at 9a-5pm (two shifts)
Where: Georgia State Railroad Museum, 655 Louisville Rd, Savannah, GA 31401
   Who: Volunteers who can help host event and do STEM activity for the kids.

  What:
Here is an amazing opportunity to volunteer your time for a cause during this season of giving! Georgia State Railroad Museum is hosting a Savannah Santa Train event on 12/7 with an entire room dedicated for STEM activities.  We are looking for volunteers to help with STEM booths and other areas like check-in tables, art activities and parking if needed.

Here is a list of activities we will be doing at the STEM booth; activity information will be provided on the day of the event.

·       Marshmallow Catapults

·       Insta-snow

·       Play-dough Tree Circuits

·       Melting Snowman

·       Snowball towers

Shift #1- 8:30am to 1:00pm

Shift #2- 12:30pm to 5:00pm

SWE Gives Back Holiday Party!

 When:  December 23rd from 9a-10:45a
Where: Union Mission, 120 Fahm Street, Savannah, GA 31401
   Who: Anyone is invited to volunteer. No experience required.

  What: This year instead of a holiday party, we are having a Giving Back Party at the Union Mission. There are a few slots for the 9am-10:45a on Dec 23, 2019 open.  See below for the details and to sign up! Help out this season by volunteering for Union Mission's annual Holiday Meal! Volunteers will have the opportunity to serve a meal or assist with donation giveaways.

Volunteer – Student Success Expo

 When: Saturday, January 11th at 10a-3pm (two shifts)
Where: Savannah Mall, 14045 Abercorn St, Savannah, GA 31419
   Who: Volunteers who can help host event and do STEM activity for the kids.

  What:
At the annual Student Success Expo we will host a STEM activity and need volunteers. No experience required, the activity is simple and training will be completed on-site. Lunch vouchers are provided for volunteers.

Shift #1- 9:30am to 1:00pm

Shift #2- 12:00pm to 3:00pm

TEDx Women of Hilton Head

 When: Saturday, December 7th at 5pm
Where: Hilton Head Island, SC
   Who: The event is open to the public. Tickets are available

Toy Drive

 When: November 12th – December 9th
Where: Savannah, GA
   Who: Anyone can donate, email to arrange drop-offs

What: See flyer below that has details on the Toy Drive and delivery spearheaded by Operation One STEM at a Time. Whitney Holt and Laure Strom are helping to collect toys for the drive. We can accept deliveries at the Gulfstream Research and Development Campus off Crossroads Parkway in Savannah, GA.  Email sceswe@gmail.com to arrange details.
